Jasmine Crockett refuses to campaign for Texas Senate nominee Talarico
A Democratic feud in Texas is spilling into the open, and it's bad news for the party's chances in a state it badly wants to flip.
- Jasmine Crockett lost the Texas Senate primary in July and now won't campaign for the winner, James Talarico.
- Her reason: she's busy boosting down-ballot candidates across a big state and can't do both.
- She has also said the primary was racist and that she'd rather back Black candidates than Talarico.
- Critics call it the opposite of "vote blue no matter who" — the same loyalty establishment Democrats demand from progressives when they lose.
- Hillary Clinton meanwhile accused progressives of not backing nominees, though far more of her own voters abandoned Obama in 2008 than Bernie voters abandoned her in 2016.
Outlook: With Ken Paxton in the race, Democratic infighting makes an already tough Texas Senate seat harder to win.
