Deputy City Prosecutor arrested at Kapolei DUI checkpoint
A Honolulu deputy city prosecutor was arrested for drunk driving at a police checkpoint, an embarrassing turn for the office that prosecutes those same cases.
- Miki Nishizawa, 28, was stopped on Kualakai Parkway in Kapolei around 1 a.m. and arrested.
- She was released on $500 bail about an hour and a half later.
- Two other people were arrested nearby around the same time.
- The checkpoint was part of a nationwide enforcement push called "Saturation Saturday."
- The city prosecutor's office said it knows about the arrest but would not comment; she has worked there two years.
Outlook: The case moves to court while her office decides whether to take internal action.
