A Honolulu morning show marked the day with birthday shout-outs and a plug for an upcoming stage production, a light and upbeat segment with no hard news.

• Viewers who signed up had their birthdays read out and sung to on air, including a backlog from the previous Thursday.
• The catch-up was needed because a hurricane disrupted the show's normal schedule.
• People can submit their own birthday requests through the station's website.
• The Ramayana, an epic tale staged at the Hawaii Theatre, was promoted as an upcoming event worth seeing.

Outlook: The birthday segment continues on future shows, with tickets for the Hawaii Theatre production still available.
