Hawaii's big bon dance festival is back this weekend, and it is open to anyone who wants to show up and join in.

• Megabon 2026 takes place Saturday at Leeward Community College, starting at 4 p.m. with an opening ceremony.
• The event mixes food, live music, and open bon dancing that anyone of any age can join.
• Beginners are welcome — simple, popular dances are on the playlist, and no experience is needed.
• Local dance groups also run occasional open practices for people who want to learn before or after the festival.

Outlook: Expect a big turnout Saturday evening, with dancing open to newcomers all night.
