Taiwan's military is tracking a steady Chinese naval presence around the island, a routine but persistent pressure that keeps tensions simmering.

• Taiwan's defense ministry counted 8 Chinese navy ships and 9 government vessels around the island over a 24-hour period.
• No Chinese military aircraft were detected during that window, a quieter day than usual.
• Taiwan responded with its own aircraft, ships, and land-based missile systems watching the movements.
• These daily tallies have become a regular feature of life around Taiwan, part of China's ongoing pressure campaign.

Outlook: Expect the near-daily incursions to continue, with occasional spikes around political anniversaries or arms deals.
